About Us
Grantham Creates C.I.C is an artist led, voluntary run organisation. We offer creative activities that benefit the wider community of Grantham and surrounding areas.
Our hub is the Union Street Gallery where we offer free and paid for classes and events plus a regularly changing programme of exhibitions and projects.
All this is made possible because of an amazing team of committed and enthusiastic volunteers and our many supporters from local businesses and other community groups.
Our Aims
We exist to provide space and opportunities for people to enjoy creative activity regardless of previous experience or skills. Offering an encouraging and positive environment, we create spaces for professional, emerging and amateur artists alike top share their work and skills.
We are run by, work with and support artists who make and teach art forms as diverse as printmaking, painting, collage, crochet, miniatures, automata and textiles.
We also provide opportunities for people to develop transferable skills and practical experience, helping them move forwards in their pursuit of a career in the creative industries and more.
Our Spaces
The Union Street Gallery has a combination of good quality and affordable exhibition, retail and workshop spaces. The can we hired or programmed by us.
We offer a dedicated community art table, which can be booked by small community groups for free to use in creative activities. It is also available to individuals to come in, sit and work on projects or utilise our donated arts materials.
We also work out in the community through Grantham is Gallery with more public art projects already in the pipeline.
Our Supporters
As a not-for-profit organisation we rely on funding, grants and donations as well as the income we generate through commissions on sales and workshops.
